How I chose the color of the KitchenAid mixer in my wedding registry

I’m generally not a huge fan of maroon cars but I’ve always liked Arena Red on the Porsche 993. So when I saw the “bordeaux” KitchenAid color, I was all over it. My fiancee told me today that someone bought it for us!

I bought one for my wife for Christmas. We don't use it often, but she bakes every holiday and it is fantastic. I also got the meat grinder attachment. It's fabulous. Ours is white, but that red is beautiful. Classic design, too, and it will last forever.

This is the 5 qt one where the top flips up instead of the 6 qt one with the bowl lifter. It’s “only” $350.

Also someone got us this Breville toaster oven.

I used the bowl lifter one when I worked in a restaurant kitchen. Went with the flip top to save space, and so as to not have a super expensive mixer on our wedding registry.

Mined meat? We only ever ground beef in it, and honestly, we haven’t used it for quite some time. But it worked great.

I have loads of kitchen stuff already, but not a mixer. I registered for it, a new toaster oven to replace our mediocre one, and one Shun knife. My fiancée’s a little annoyed that 2 of the very first gifts bought off the registry are the mixer and toaster oven. Score for me though!

Nice, we did the same thing on our registry. 10 years later is still going strong with not an issue. Did you put any of the attachments for the PTO on it on your registry?

Nah, the only ones that interested me are the meat grinder and pasta roller, but the amount of times I need to grind my own meat is super low and I have a hand pasta crank that already hardly gets used. Only room for so many kitchen gadgets on the registry when my fiancee is all about like, new linens and other pretty things.

We ended up with the pasta one (which we never ever use) and the juicer which is awesome for doing large volumes of juice (but gets used very rarely unless we are actually throwing a party).

Of the stuff from our registry that gets the most use that isn’t the mixer was the set of nice cookware that someone grabbed instead of the middle of the road one we picked and bissel spot carpet cleaner (man that thing is a life saver with kids/pets/parties).
